Note that only results of candidates who weren’t found guilty of the malpractice allegations will be released.

However, the results of candidates who were found guilty of the exam malpractice allegations have been CANCELED. If a result is canceled, it can’t be released again!

Though the board didn’t announce a date candidates can star checking the results, we believe the results will most likely be out next week. The procedure below will be used to check the held results.

  • Finally, click “Submit” button to get your Result.

After checking your results, please share with us if they released/canceled yours. We have been waiting for this news since. Now that it’s out, please share with us.

If your result was cancelled, then sorry, sit for another exam. Don’t beat yourself too hard. This is one of life challenges and at the end of the journey, everything will work for your good.

WAEC 2020 NEC Meeting

Recall the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) announced that the cases of 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) held Results for school candidates will be investigated during this year’s NEC meeting scheduled to hold between Tuesday 26th to Wednesday, 28th April 2021.

In the meeting, it was decided (as earlier promised) that some results will be RELEASED very soon, and some CANCELLED.

Also in the meeting, the NEC unanimously agreed to suspend some centers from conducting the WASSCE for a number of years.

Conclusion on WAEC Held Results:

WASSCE (WAEC) Result is held if there is/are reports of examination malpractice. The report can be candidate-based or exam-center-based.

If it’s candidate-based, then in a center just the candidate’s result will be held. But if it is exam-center-based, the results of the entire center will be held.

A held WAEC result can either be released or canceled after the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) meeting. In the meeting, the NEC will investigate the exam malpractice allegations.

A held result will be released if the candidate/exam-center are not guilty of examination malpractice allegations and will be canceled if they are guilty of the allegations.

Now let’s talk about the WAEC Outstanding Result:

The WASSCE results of 81,718 candidates were Outstanding/Pending (i.e they couldn’t be processed due to some errors on the part of the candidates).

Results are partially released due to queries arising from one or a combination of the following mistakes:

  • Wrong transfer of examination numbers in one or more papers;
  • Failure to shade examination numbers;
  • Shading objective sheets with biro pens instead of a pencil;
  • Mistakes in entries leading to duplication of subjects.

Such errors are being corrected to enable all the affected candidates get their full results.

Please note that ALLOutstanding results will be released.

Some WASSCE results are usually held. Let’s explain that.

What is WAEC Withheld Result?

According to Adenipekun, some of the results were withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.”

In simple words, it was reported that you or your center were involved in examination malpractice.

WAEC will investigate the report and if the candidates/school were found culpable, their results will be cancelled.

If they are not culpable then their results will be released.

When will the withheld result be released? No exact date yet!

The Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) will meet next week to decide on the malpractice cases arising from the conduct of that examination and others.
